Who is responsible
QuoteCheck is run by RedPixels Studio. You'll find our address and contact details in the Impressum.
What we store
- Your account: your name and email address from your Google account, whether your access is approved, and your language and location settings.
- What you send: texts, PDFs, photos and links you share in the chat, the AI's answers, and the quotes you create (PDF, Excel, Word). Photos are deleted as soon as the AI has read them; only the text read from them is kept with your chat.
- Links: when you send a link, our server opens that web page once and passes its text to the AI. The website you linked sees a request from our server, not from you.
- Technical data: the server keeps short logs with your IP address and the pages you open, to keep the service secure and fix errors.
Where your data is processed
- Supabase stores your account, chats and files in its EU region (Frankfurt, Germany) and handles sign-in.
- Railway hosts the website in its EU region.
- Cloudflare protects and delivers the website. Every request to QuoteCheck passes through Cloudflare's network, which processes your IP address and the request itself to block attacks and abuse.
- Google confirms your identity when you sign in with Google. Google's own privacy policy applies to that step.
- The AI computer: the AI models run on a private computer in Germany, operated by a person QuoteCheck has chosen and trusts (the host). Your requests are processed there: your question with the recent messages of the chat, the text read from your files and photos, your town or postcode and, for quotes, your company details. Photos are deleted on our side as soon as they have been read. They are not sent to a cloud AI provider such as OpenAI or Google.
- Tavily (AlphaAI Technologies Inc., USA) and Ollama web search (Ollama Inc., USA): to find current prices and alternatives, our server sends short search terms to Tavily, or to Ollama's web search when Tavily is not available, made from the kind of job and your town or postcode, for example "painter price per square metre Berlin". Your name, email address and files are never part of these searches. Our server or the AI computer then opens a few of the pages found and reads the prices on them; those websites see a request from QuoteCheck, not from you.
Supabase, Railway, Cloudflare and Google are companies based in the USA. Where data may reach the USA, the transfer is based on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or the EU standard contractual clauses.
Why we process it
We process your data to provide QuoteCheck to you (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and to keep the service secure (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in a safe, working service).
Voice input and reading aloud
If you click the microphone in the chat, your browser turns your speech into text using its own speech recognition. Depending on the browser, its maker processes the recording for this, for example Google in Chrome or Apple in Safari; QuoteCheck only receives the finished text. Reading answers aloud uses the voices of your browser or device.
Cookies
QuoteCheck only uses cookies it needs to work: the cookies that keep you signed in, and one that remembers your language. There is no tracking, no analytics and no advertising.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and chats as long as your account exists. Server logs are deleted after a few days. You can delete your account and all your data yourself at any time under Settings > Delete account; it is deleted at once and for good. You can also ask us using the details in the Impressum.
Your rights
You have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict its processing, to receive it in a portable format and to object to its processing. You can also complain to a data protection supervisory authority.
